a brief history of HAIKU-CHI

HAIKU-CHI
original soul/funk

Formed in 2007, HAIKU-CHI is the brainchild of Andrew Nunez, (owner of the SeaMonster Lounge live music venue in Seattle, WA), who has a special talent for singing, songwriting and performing. Together with the super funky Woogie D playing drums, singing, and rapping, Mark Mattrey thumpin’ away on the bass, and Matt Alston’s keys and greasy guitar licks, these cats don’t mess around once they hit the stage. Jabrille Williams is an old school soul showstopper on guitar, and with Melissa Montalto on vocals/electric violin, and the newly-added horn section of Bill Jones (formerly of Clinton Fearon’s Boogie Band) and Jason Kressley (of Tubaluba), HAIKU-CHI has what it takes to move any crowd.

Truly an all-star cast of musicians from different ethnic backgrounds from across the USA, brought together by their love for music to bring you one of the best live shows out of the Northwest. More at: www.haiku-chi.com.
